Photo Guide
The quality of your headshots depends directly on the photos you upload. A private AI model is fine-tuned on your face — the more information you give it, the more accurately it learns your features.
How many photos?
Upload between 8 and 20 photos. But variety matters far more than quantity — 12 diverse photos consistently outperform 20 similar ones. Aim for a broad mix: different angles, different lighting, different expressions.
What to upload
Good photos
- • Mix of angles: front-facing, 3/4 left, 3/4 right
- • Mix of crops: 5–10 close-up headshots + 5–10 chest-up shots
- • Multiple expressions: neutral, smiling, serious
- • Varied lighting: indoors and outdoors, different conditions
- • Clear and sharp: original camera photos, no filters
- • Recent photos: taken within the last 2 years
Avoid
- • Sunglasses or face coverings
- • Group photos or other people in frame
- • Heavy filters, Snapchat or Instagram effects
- • Blurry or low-resolution images
- • Hats or hoods covering your head
- • Extreme angles (looking sharply up or down)
- • All photos from the same angle or in the same room
Why each type matters
SuitYourFace trains a model specifically on your face — not a generic template. The model needs to learn your features from multiple viewpoints and lighting conditions to produce accurate headshots.
✅ Close-up headshot
Face fills most of the frame. Great for capturing fine detail — bone structure, eye shape, skin tone.
✅ Chest-up shot
Head and shoulders visible. Helps the model understand how your face looks from a slight distance.
✅ 3/4 angle
Turned slightly left or right. Teaches the model your profile and depth.
✅ Outdoor, natural light
Natural light is the most flattering and gives the model a different reference point from indoor shots.
🚫 Sunglasses or hat
Your eyes and hairline are key facial landmarks — covering them produces worse output.
🚫 Group photo
Other faces confuse the model. Always use solo photos.
🚫 Screenshot / messaging app export
These are heavily compressed and low-resolution — the model can't learn fine detail from them.
🚫 Heavy filter or effect
Filters alter your skin tone and features. The model learns the filtered look, not your real face.
File formats
We accept JPG, PNG, and HEIC/HEIF (including iPhone Live Photos). Files are automatically resized and converted during upload — you don't need to do anything special. Maximum file size is 20 MB per photo.
